WHO WE ARE
Nita Ride was born out of necessity, easing the hardships that people from rural communities faced simply trying to get to their medical appointments. These hardships can include situations such as the lack of transportation options in these communities, the unwillingness of rideshare drivers to make the trip, inadequate communication between healthcare providers, or just the overall financial burden placed on patients and their families. This may lead to cancelled visits and worsening health for the individual.
Nita Ride provides an honest solution to these problems, with the goal of restoring hope in rural healthcare by connecting with vulnerable populations through transportation. Nita Ride operates in two rural counties - Lincoln & Pike County, MO - because of their limited options available to their residents. Because Nita Ride fills gaps in service, we complement existing resources by expanding access to transportation for those in need - one ride at a time.
WHY IT MATTERS
Missouri's rural healthcare system faces persistent transportation barriers. Many rural patients must travel 45 minutes or more to reach healthcare services, using transportation systems that operate on limited routes and schedules. This create a critical need for reliable, locally-based, non-emergency medical transportation services. And it’s not just individuals who live in rural communities who face challenges.
If you aren’t in this situation yourself, imagine you or a loved one living a short distance from a healthcare provider, but unable to make your appointment for reasons outside your control. It can be anything from a vehicle breaking down, a driver out sick, an assistant not being available, or even a mix-up in the appointment time. These types of situations can happen to anyone.
That’s where Nita Ride comes in. We operate in rural communities, specialize in last-minute transport and personalized routes, and require our drivers to to be active Certified Nurse’s Aides (CNAs) to assist nursing home residents during their appointments as required. Families can have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are both transported and assisted with care and compassion.

Last-Minute Transport
Plans can change at a moment’s notice, and missing an appointment can be hassle or even life-threating. We have positioned ourselves to provide last-minute transportation for those who simply can’t afford to miss their visit.
CNA Drivers
Our drivers are all Certified Nurse’s Aides (CNA), meaning they can assist nursing home residents during their appointments. Having a CNA is often required in these cases, so we’ve eliminated that potential hurdle for you.
Wheelchair Accessible Van
Our van is equipped for both mobile and immobile, non-emergency medical transport. Whether you’re using a walker, wheelchair, or powered chair, we will get you onboard and safely secured for your trip.
